Fishing in Englewood Florida with Captain Dan Bourcier

Growing up on the water
As a young boy I had many freedoms, and spent that freedom with a fishing rod in hand. If I wasn't on the water I was at least by the shore. I grew up a Floridian, doing all kinds of fishing from saltwater to fresh. And I have extensive experience in both. As I got older I ranged far and wide. I fished secluded clear-water lakes on light tackle. I slipped up on deep and brackish sloughs where monsters lurked. And I found the best drop-offs and wrecks on the sandy side. Much of my experience comes through personal adventure in our waters. But I especially owe it to my father who was an avid outdoors-man, and a passionate recreational fisherman.

Sport Fishing and Competition
Throughout my adult life I've fished both just for fun, but I'm also as a successful tournament angler. Over the past twenty years I have have competed in countless events. Some of those include the Pompano Beach Fishing Rodeos, Bahamas Billfish Championships, Southern Kingfish Association Tournament Trail. And for many years I have competed in the Boca Grande Tarpon Tournaments.

Sharing with others my passion for fishing
As a professional Captain I especially enjoy sharing fishing knowledge and tactics with other anglers who are often both new to fishing, and to the area. I run several different trips that will bring you and I head-to-head with Kingfish, Permit, Goliath Grouper, Snapper and others, depending on the season.

Back-country trips can keep a rod bent on a slam of Redfish, Snook or Trout. And at the right time of the year I can take you on a short ride to World Famous Boca Grande pass for your chance at a ‘Silver King’.

If you’re just looking to relax I have a wide variety of scenic tours and lunch trips to Rum Bay or Cabbage Key. These trips will often bring us close to dolphins, manatees, and a variety of Florida wildlife.
